Uzbekistan Approves Technical Regulation on Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved the Technical Regulation "On the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products", which establishes unified mandatory requirements for limiting hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products entering the market of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This regulation enters into force on 15 February 2026.
This technical regulation does not apply to the following products:
- used for state defence, law enforcement, or as special technical means of operational-search activities
- equipment for use at rated voltages above 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC
- intended for use as components of electrical equipment not listed in the regulation
- photovoltaic panels (solar batteries)
- products for use in terrestrial and orbital space objects
- electrical equipment for air, water, underground and ground transport
- batteries and accumulators used as part of electrical and electronic products
- second-hand equipment
- large stationary industrial equipment
- measuring instruments
- medical devices
- equipment specially developed for R&D
Conformity assessment is carried out in the form of declaration of conformity or certification. A certificate for serial production is issued for 3 years. A certificate for a set of products is issued for its validity or warranty period.
The list of products subject to mandatory conformity assessment is given in Annex 1 and includes: kitchen appliances, laundry and cleaning equipment, climate control devices, sanitary appliances, audio and video equipment, power supplies and chargers, lighting, electric toys, computers and peripherals, cash registers and ATMs, cables up to 500 V, circuit breakers, telecommunications equipment, vending and gaming machines, fire and security detectors.
Conformity documents obtained before the entry into force of the regulation remain valid for the periods specified in them.
