Belarus Expands the List of Goods Requiring Digital Marking
On 1 February 2025, amendments to Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 1030 of 29 July 2011 "On goods subject to marking" and Resolution of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of the Republic of Belarus No. 17 of 3 May 2021 entered into force in Belarus.
The changes concern postponing the traceability deadline for certain groups of goods and the deadline for introducing identification marking for such goods as:
- non-alcoholic beverages, juices
- mobile phones
- laptops
For marking phones and computing machines, a marking code is used — a unique sequence of characters represented as a Data Matrix, which includes the following data groups:
- GTIN, consisting of 14 digital characters;
- Individual product serial number, consisting of 20 characters (digits, lowercase and uppercase Latin letters, and special characters);
- Third data group (application identifier (91)) — up to 4 characters in length;
- Fourth data group (application identifier (92)) — up to 44 characters in length.
The size of the identification means is determined independently by the business entity, subject to compliance with quality requirements as set out in the Instruction in Resolution of the MTD No. 17.
Mandatory marking of the above goods begins on 1 October 2025. Existing stock must be marked by 1 February 2026.
